Class of 2020 Virtual Recognition Ceremony

Class of 2020 Virtual Recognition Ceremony

Thursday, May 28
11:00 a.m. EST

Commencement Day is the most important day of the year at Lehman. This year, that day may look very different from what we were all expecting, but what won’t change is Lehman College’s recognition of all of your hard work and the sacrifices you and your families have made to get you to who you will be on May 28, 2020—a graduate of Lehman College.

Join us for a live streamed Class of 2020 Virtual Recognition Ceremony via Facebook Live on the College's Facebook page, @LehmanCUNY, on this page, lehman.edu/Classof2020 and on BronxNet, channel 67 on Optimum, 33 on FiOS and BronxNet.tv. This celebration is only one way we will celebrate your achievement; and we are planning for an in-person Commencement at a later date..

The event will feature remarks by President Daniel Lemons, Provost Peter Nwosu, deans of the College’s five Schools, graduating seniors from the Class of 2020 Student Government Association President Tarialy Hernandez and graduating student Kassandra Montes. The Class of 2020 will also hear congratulatory messages from CUNY Chancellor Félix V. Matos, U.S. Sen. Charles E. Schumer, Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul, and Lehman alumnae New York State Attorney General Letitia James, and Bronx Borough President Rubén Díaz Jr.

The names of the more than 3,600 graduates of the Lehman College Class of 2020 will be displayed, along with additional congratulatory messages from faculty and staff.

“Commencement at Lehman College marks the culmination of our graduates’ hard work, especially this year, and it is always a jubilant day for their families, friends, instructors and advisors as well – many of whom travel from far and wide for the occasion,” Lemons said. “I recognize the loss graduates feel at not having our in-person celebration at this time due to the pandemic, but I hope everyone who would have joined us in person will join the celebration online on May 28.”

The livestream will also be available on the College’s Facebook page, where students are invited to post selfies on the Lehman campus from earlier in the year or celebrating with their families in full regalia. Share your graduation pride with these Instagram Story templates. Choose a template.
